Operations & maintenance

Operations and maintenance

We monitor, maintain and test batteries, chargers and the equipment around them, and report every month, including on systems others installed.

What we look after

What we maintain

Storage, charging and the equipment around them, under one AMC and one monthly report.

  • Battery storage

BMS, power conversion, cooling, fire systems and capacity tests.

  • EV chargers

AC, DC and light-EV chargers: connectors, cables, power modules and OCPP links.

  • Solar tied to storage

Inverters, strings and protection where solar feeds storage or chargers.

  • Genset hybrid controls

Changeover and hybrid-controller settings, with your genset service provider.

  • Monitoring & EMS

Energy 107 schedules, limits and alarms, kept in tune with the site.

  • Switchgear & metering

Thermal surveys, protection checks and metering records.

Takeovers

Taking over existing systems

For systems whose installer or warranty support has gone, we start with a baseline of their condition.

Four checks before we sign an AMC. Schematic, not to scale.
  1. Document review

    Drawings, test reports, warranty

  2. Baseline inspection

    Visual, thermal, alarms, logs

  3. Capacity & efficiency test

IEC 62933-2-1, or charger function tests

  4. AMC proposal

    Scope, exclusions, spares, first fixes

Battery upkeep

Battery maintenance schedule

Typical scope; final frequencies follow the maker's manual and your AMC.

  1. Continuous

    • Remote monitoring of alarms, temperature and charge
    • Alarm response as agreed
  2. Monthly

    • Visual inspection and cooling checks
    • BMS log and cell-voltage review
  3. Quarterly

    • Thermal scan of connections
    • Fire and gas detection checks
    • Emergency-stop and door-alarm tests
  4. Annual

    • Torque re-checks on terminations
    • Energy and efficiency test (IEC 62933-2-1)
    • Suppression-system inspection
    • State-of-health review against warranty

Charger upkeep

EV charger maintenance

Some faults can be cleared remotely; the rest need hands, tools and the right spares.

Connector, cable and charger data. Schematic, not to scale.

Remote

  • Connectivity and heartbeat alarms
  • Error codes and stuck sessions
  • Remote resets and connector release

On site

  • Connector and cable inspection
  • Thermal scans of panels and terminations
  • RCD trip and earth-continuity tests
  • Payment terminal and network checks

Spares we plan for

  • Connector and cable assemblies
  • Power modules
  • Control and communication boards

Reporting

Monthly reporting

One short report, in the same layout every month.

  • Energy in and out; round-trip efficiency
  • Availability, with exclusions listed
  • Alarms, responses and time to resolve
  • Peak demand against the set limit
  • Charger sessions, availability and faults
  • Maintenance done and next actions

AMC

What an AMC covers

Each contract sets out who does what, how fast, and what's excluded.

  • Scope

Which equipment, visits and tests, and the compliance records we keep.

  • Response

How alarms are handled and response times, agreed per site.

  • Spares

What we hold, what the owner holds.

  • Exclusions

Grid outages, vandalism, misuse, maker warranty items.

  • Measures

Availability, session success rate and repair time, defined in the contract.

  • Review

An annual review of scope and results.

Questions about O&M

Yes. We start with a baseline inspection and capacity test, so we both know the condition we are taking on.

We follow the maker's manual, use approved parts and log everything, and coordinate where the maker requires its own engineers.

Yes, if the chargers speak OCPP and we are given access to the management software, or the network shares alerts with us.

We look after the hybrid controls, changeover and synchronising settings, and coordinate with your genset service provider for the engine and alternator.

Ours or someone else's: we start with an inspection and a baseline test.
