Ways to pay

Engagement models

Pay upfront, over time or as a service. The right fit depends on your capital, your time at the site and who carries performance risk.

Regulations

What the rules allow

Since September 2025, consumers may own, lease or rent energy storage, and storage has been on India's Harmonised Master List of Infrastructure since October 2022.

Seven models

How each model works

  1. Consulting engagement

A fixed-fee study or an owner's-engineer retainer. We advise; you decide and buy.

  2. Capex EPC

You own the system from day one. We design, supply, build and commission it.

  3. Supply & install, or integration only

You choose the equipment; we install, integrate and commission it.

  4. Storage-as-a-service

We or a financing partner own the system; you pay a fixed monthly fee for hardware, software and maintenance.

  5. BOO / BOOT

We and a financing partner build, own and operate it for a fee. Under BOOT, ownership passes to you at term end.

  6. Shared savings

Our fee is a share of measured savings against a baseline agreed up front.

  7. O&M-only / AMC

We maintain storage, chargers or solar, whoever installed them, for a fixed annual fee.

† Arranged with financing partners, subject to credit and site assessment.

Good to know

Payback, subsidies and tax

  • We quote payback only after seeing your data, with every assumption shown.
  • Central viability gap funding (VGF) supports utility-scale projects, not commercial or industrial sites.
  • Lithium-ion batteries (HSN 8507) carry 18% GST. Ask your chartered accountant about tax treatment.
  • Lenders and insurers get a document pack: specification, certificates, fire-test data, commissioning report and O&M plan.

Questions about payment models

Often, yes: through a BOOT structure or a buy-out clause agreed at the start.

Service and BOO contracts set out relocation, assignment and early-termination terms. We agree them before signing, not after.

The owner, usually. Under service models that is us or a financing partner; under capex it is you, and we provide the documents insurers ask for.

Service and BOO models need enough scale and contract length to be financeable. We will tell you early if a site is better suited to capex.
